I've been sadly lacking in exercise recently, thanks to a lot of travelling and a bout of tonsilitis. So today I took advantage of being at home and not actually having anywhere else to be, and went to the gym. I cycled 16km in 34 minutes (and another 1.5km in cooldown) on an exercise bike, rowed 1500m in 8 minutes on the rowing machine, and then went and swam 20 lengths in 20 minutes. In addition to this, I've cycled to and from the gym, cycled into town and walked back out, hung up washing, and tidied up the kitchen a bit.
Yesterday I re-sealed round the bath. This involved taking the old silicon sealant off (
ravenlas did a lot of that for me), taking the shower screen off the wall, pasting everything with silicone-eating gel gunk and leaving it for 4 hours, then cleaning it all off and re-sealing it, then putting the shower screen back up. Still, it's done, and I sincerely hope it's sorted as it's a pain in the proverbial. I also went shopping, and handily bought a little purple shopping trolley which I can bungee onto the back of my bike and use as a small bike trailer. Very handy! I'll mostly be using it to cart around my dressmaking stuff when my course starts back up on the 20th.
And yesterday, Simon called round because, when I said 'I'm going shopping' over TeamSpeak, he said 'Bring pie!', so I did. *grin* So he called round and had pie and wine, and we had happy chatting, and
ravenlas played WoW. He's mowing the lawn atm, btw, just in case you think he's been glued to his laptop for the past week - he's feeling a lot better, so his WoWing will of necessity be curtailed by a return to work tomorrow.
Fantasy-con in Nottingham happens this year to coincide with Rosh Hashanah. Just my luck! I had signed up for a Saturday-only pass, and paid up. I was really looking forward to seeing publishers, writers - Neil Gaiman! - etc, maybe even getting to pitch my novel, but no, I'll be in shul. Humbug. So would anyone like a Saturday-only pass? A snip at £20... *grin*
And all this is writing-avoidance. So I'm going to grab another cup of tea and buckle back down. I want to get 2 short stories finished off and get back onto book editing if poss.
But first, a belated shout-out...
