For I am a: Lawful Good Human Wizard (4th Level) )

In other news, I am wearing my new socks. I took a photo. I even remembered to take my camera into work. But the cable is still at home. Doh! I'll edit the post later this evening.

Operation 'Get the Spare Room Sorted Out so [livejournal.com profile] ravenlas Can Put All His Miniatures Up There Before [livejournal.com profile] paulmarks Arrives This Weekend' is in full swing. The Desk (it's so large it deserves capitalization) is now in place, with the fourth leg now securely fixed to it. I have begun to move boxes and go through boxes. My beloved husband's armour is safely put away in the wardrobe1, along with some of his reenactment kit. Tonight, I intend to finish going through the boxes, move the campaign bed pieces2, move up the bookcases from the kitchen3, and build the last chest of drawers. And that'll be it largely finished. Hurrah!

If you don't hear from me tomorrow, you may assume I am buried under a Pile of Stuff. Send in the St. Bernard.

1. Where else would you keep your armour? What do you mean you don't have any?
2. A campaign bed. Designed to be taken to pieces. So you can take it on campaign with you and sleep in comfort in your campaign tent. What do you mean you don't go on campaign?
3. You *don't* have bookcases in your kitchen? How bizarre! I don't get you people at all. *shakes head sadly*

Today I started work on Squirrels In Space again. I intend to finish it by the end of the month. Edited. Done. It should be do-able. I have hope. I wrote a synopsis and analysed character threads. And I wrote another 500 words of Shed World. Not actually Shed World, but the shared world project that the writing group is doing. And I proofread a pile of things for Hub.

I need to do some work for work, yanno...

Also, I went to Asda, put on washing, put out washing, brought in washing, hung up washing, made lamb casserole. Well, stew, since there was too much to put in my casserole dish in the oven, and I have a bigger pan. And stir fry, so there was something to eat tonight.

I call today a win, mostly.

I have a bit of a rash on my ring finger. Allegedly, boiling my rings in a 2/1 vinegar/hydrogen peroxide solution for 15 minutes will kill anything on them. And so I wait for the rash to clear up so that I can wear my beautiful rings again.

This month is my writing month. At points I am going to become extremely anti-social, and possibly even rude and grumpy. So this is my apology before-hand: it's nothing personal. But I have to work, now, and it is going to eat my head, and then (as one of my friends said about extreme babysitting) I will lose all my social. Sorry. I still love you all.

Oh, and I can tell it's back-to-school today. Films this evening? Slither, Gattaca, White Noise 1. A programme on Wahabism. Very end-of-the-world...

Edit: Weight: 153.5 lbs. Exercise: 4 miles on the bike, 5 km on the cross-trainer. Alcohol: 0. I put a mini bottle of red wine in with the lamb, but we haven't eaten that yet. And all the alcohol will long have boiled off anyway.

... and I must sleep!

Since I met up with [livejournal.com profile] sarcaustick and [livejournal.com profile] thirstypixel last Friday for dinner at Buzz and good company in the Borders queue for Harry Potter and the Final Countdown (which was excellent - the book and the company both, very much appreciated), I have been smitten with the lurgy. Well, my lurgy. Tonisilitis. It's my kryptonite. I have been to work on Thursday, and apart from that, I have spent the rest of the week at home on the sofa with only daytime TV and recorded episodes of Torchwood for company. I've hardly been on line, which is how little brain I've had.

Ho hum, never mind and all that. Regardless of health, I shall be back at work on Monday as there's only so long I can spend with my butt glued to the sofa. I hope your week has all been fine. I arr not klever rite now, sow if yoo want mee to no anething, best eemayel me. Nekst week. Hav ay grayt weekend.
