Writing Hell Month: Day 11
My antisocial has kicked in big-time. I have a pile of unread emails in my inbox, I don't want to answer the phone, and I'm cancelling my trip to Norfolk this weekend. Well, that last is because I'm still running too tired, and it'd be enough to push me into CFS. Which I really don't want.
Still, this morning I finished revising Chapter 1 and got through all of Chapter 2 (it's shorter). Hey, you know this book I wrote? It doesn't suck! Wow. That surprises me. I started writing this, what, almost 3 years ago? It was November, not part of NaNoWriMo, just because I'd finished the Shiny Brain uber-course and my brain was all shined up and ready to rumble, and I promised my twin I'd send her 1500 words every day. So I did. Mostly. :) Since then, I've done a fair amount of other writing, and I like to think I've improved somewhat. And no, were I writing this from scratch, it wouldn't be quite the same. But equally, it doesn't suck, and it doesn't need huge amounts of tightening up. I'm removing a fair few commas, though. *grin*
I headed off to the station around 10 minutes early. No particular reason, just how it worked out. But boy, am I glad I did! While I was walking up platform 3, it got so dark that the overhead lights came on. And then the heavens opened. Is it wrong that I'm excited we appear to be developing our very own monsoon season? I must go re-read Kipling's All The Mowgli Stories.
Gregory McDonald has died, just in case you didn't know. :( And Maurice Sendak has come out. Awesome man, truly amazing work.
stacia_kane is onto the scene crits in her Be A Sex Writing Strumpet series of posts. There's some really great writing advice in them: it's worth taking the time to read them all.
Exercise:24 miles on the bike. Weight: 149lbs. Alcohol: 0.
