Happy belated birthday, paul_marks and ant_girl!

Friday evening:

paul_marks turned up;

ravenlas and I went to

gaxx's game, in which we're not dead yet! We have finished 'Something Rotten in Khislev', though, I believe.

Saturday: picked up a very nice 1.6l Astra sporty thingummy, went to shul, got home and read Dreamcatcher by Monica Hughes. It's still that good. Saturday evening, went to see Pirates of the Caribbean II with

paul_marks,

ravenlas, Adam winolj and

palmersperry. Bumped into Steve and Lesley wanolj there for the same reason. Oh boy, it rocks! I really enjoyed the film, and there were lots of Very Silly Bits. *heh* I can heartily recommend you should all go see it, or walk the plank, me hearties! Arr!

Sunday:

ravenlas was feeling a bit ill, so we didn't set off until 10:30. We got to Tewkesbury at 1:30, met up with Adam, and had a good wander round the stalls. We saw the battle - York won! As is only right and proper, of course, if not exactly historically accurate.

ravenlas bought me an eating set from Todd's stuff which I have been lusting after for the past several years, and I bought me a belt. He also bought a new ~~butter knife~~ glaive and is quite happy despite the lack of polearms or Finn, who owes him gambesons. And he bumped into a couple of guys from back home who he knows. All in all, it was a nice day. Then I got to drive the 200 miles home again, and we were back in around 3 hours. Very, very nice car; proof I should not be allowed a sports car, or I would lose my license very quickly through inadvertent speeding. And advertent speeding. *heh* Watched Gladiatress when we got back, finished reading Join Me, the Danny Wallace book, both of which are very funny and I like lots.

So all in all, a good weekend. I hope

ravenlas gets better soon and doesn't give me his lurgy.
