My Dad came over to visit me. We met up in town at lunchtime, had lunch in the Blakehead cafe/bookshop (very nice vegetarian food), then wandered through the Oxfam bookshop, up to Borders, into Crabtree & Evelyn, and Banks. It was really nice to see him. He's debating setting up a website for his stories (as there's not much of a market for literary stories unless they're by a huge author), maybe some print on demand, and I think he should go down the podcasting route. I got some writing done after he'd headed home on the train, then went to the pictures.
I went to see The Prestige this evening with my friends Steve and Lesley. What a great film! Go see it! The acting is fantastic, and the film is so well-made. Every last little detail has meaning, and it's all there for a reason. It's a tale of obsession and rivalry, and the twist in the tail is excellent. It left me going, "You ***!" and shaking my head in admiration.
So, it's been a lovely day. I should be in bed, but Nurse Betty is sucking me in (a sign I'm over-tired). I have furniture to move tomorrow...
Oh, and some of you might recognise some of these...
