Another busy weekend, but much fun. Friday evening, Brigantes for
ayrton_nix's birthday. Smoke-free, nice pub, and the added bonus of the next table being occupied by a separate group of friends, so lots of people to see and talk to. It was really nice.
Saturday, I slept. A lot. I didn't make it to Leeds Climbing Wall, as I got out of bed at 11. Had lunch at VJs, saw people, then went on a fruitless quest for water snails, but did get some stuff from Boyes and B&Q... Decided to sort out the front garden, so I spent a good couple of hours scraping up the pebbles, fishing weeds out of them, and finding receptacles to dump them in. I filled up the green wheelie bin, the 2 recycling boxes, a rather large cardboard box, a small cardboard box, a mop bucket and the paper recycling bag, in the end. *heh* Then I caught most of Dr Who (*squee*) and Sarah came round and we had pizza and wine and much good conversation. I finished taking my handbag apart and drew round the pieces to make a template, and got to bed at 1:30am.
Sunday, up early to finish the front garden. Jerry helped me put down the new black fabric to keep down weeds and helped me put the pebbles back. I had to dash back to B&Q for another roll of black fabric, but in the end we were only half an hour late getting round to
st3v3 and
cfw's for lunch with
wey and
greynolds. It was a great afternoon - lovely food, and excellent company, and a game of Citadels. Then back home, and straight back out into the garden to dig up the strip along the front of the house. It turned out to be three parts clay to two parts brick and hardcore, so if anyone fancies a go at pottery... Anyway, it's now filled with compost and actual soil and violas, pansies, lavendar, a lupin and a cottage pink 'Doris'. *grin* Eh, it's pretty. Or it will be in daylight; it was pretty dark by the time I finished. So this week I didn't hop on the exercise bike while watching Grey's Anatomy; I reckon I've done my exercise for today. Though not as much as
palmersperry...
So, tomorrow, back to work for a rest. I need to pop back to B&Q to get three or four more bags of gravel to top up the garden, and I need to find out where to get water snails from. Plus, more maths and maybe some handbag-making, or even some pressing of seams on my coat. Or I could clean the house for Pesach...
