What's up, Doc?
Jun. 11th, 2007 11:35 amWasn't the last Doctor Who awesome? I was really creeped out by it, and had the sofa not been firmly against the wall, I'd have hidden behind it. Yay! Sally Sparrow would have made *such* a great companion, don't you think?
Anyway... in other news, and somewhat unexpectedly,
ravenlas and I are selling our house. It'll be in Thursday's Press, and to save the curiosity, it's up for £149,950. Hurrah. No, we weren't planning on it. However, next door's house is also up for sale. Subject to contract. With us. *heh* For the princely sum of £185,000, we will be the proud owners of 5 bedrooms (4 of them doubles, 3 with sinks plumbed in, 1 with a shower and 1 with an en-suite shower room), 2 bathrooms and 2 conservatories. The living room is huge, and will easily take all our books without being filled to the brim. There's a rather large shed in the garden, and the loft is half-boarded, to take all our junk.
So, as all this was rather unexpected, our house isn't quite in the state it should be for the brochure photos taking and people coming to view it. To remedy that, I spent all day yesterday getting boxes and parcel tape and putting books into said boxes and storing them in the shed. I can't fit any more boxes in there *and* still have room for
ravenlas's bike... And there's still the living room to de-clutter.
Saturday was great, though, apart from himself having to go into work (yet more unpaid, unappreciated overtime) to let the air-conditioning man in and fix a server. We did make it to the 6pm showing of Pirates 3 (laughed myself silly, though I can see why all the reviews were crap), followed by dinner at the Siam House. Yum!
I wish to be at home today. I want to get the place sorted out. Maybe even do a little gardening. Alas, I am stuck at work, waiting for lunchtime so I can go and get the makings of a cheese, pastrami, salad and avocado sandwich. *belly rumble* Maybe I should get some work done to pass the time, hmm? What a novel concept. There's *always* time for Doctor Who fanfic... *heh*
