I haven't posted for a week, I'm not entirely sure why, but hey, here here I am. Still alive! Or at least, not dead. I'm actually posting this using my iPad dictation function, which sends everything I'm saying to Apple, apparently. I keep thinking I should use this to write a whole load of smutty smutty porn, just in case anyone human is actually listening to this. Eh, I'll get around to it!

DH has been busy watching Lost Girls on Netflix. It really is quite good, and very funny, especially Kenzi. I think we both have a crush on her irreverent brain! (In case you were wondering, no, dictation really isn't that good, I just keep stopping to correct its spelling! It's still faster than typing with the screen keyboard though.)

I have largely been knitting for the past week, still making that pesky scarf for my brother-in-law. I've also made a pair of welly socks for Ethel's grandson Jacob, and I'm making a second pair. I started making the silk bags for those lavender sachets I promised my mum, and I promised to make a draft excluder for my mother-in-law. I went through the cloth stash with my husband, looking for cloth suitable for Viking re-enactment, of which it turns out we have lots! Now all I need to do is dig out my pattern books, take measurements, and get sewing! Does anyone know if the Vikings used flat fell seams, or if that's just a mediaeval thing?

Today I am maungy. I don't know why, just one of those things I guess. It might be hormonal, or seasonal, or related to the fact that I have lost 3.3 kg since the start of the year.it doesn't especially matter in any case. I have retreated to the bathtub, with a large glass of wine and some shortbread biscuits baked by Ethel, which are delicious. My wonderful husband has brought me coffee and chilli chocolate and is happy leaving me to soak it out. He really is the best!

In other news, I've been doing some writing, which isn't actually rubbish. Hurrah! I'll likely post it up somewhere when it's done. The dogs are all fine; the house is still standing despite the gales and the snow and the ice. The cars haven't done their best keystone cops impression and fallen to pieces, and all relations are still as well as can be expected. So I guess I really should put the iPad down in case I drop it in the water, and get on with washing my hair.

Rock 'n' roll!
