For all those of you who recall Jim the Texan, he and his lovely wife, Jen, will be in York around Friday and Saturday, I do believe. I'll post more accurate details when I know them, but I'm sure they'd love to see folks.
I have enough space to put the three of you up (I have a double futon and a sofa in the living room, a double sofa bed in the sewing room, and a camp bed in the armoury, though that's a bit crowded...) so you can stay wherever you like. ;) I have a double duvet and a single duvet spare, and sheets, but I might be a bit short on pillows, if you want to bring one.
I can be off work Friday (they won't be surprised). My brother, Mike, is visiting Dad on Thursday, so he's picking me up from Sheffield on the way to Huddersfield, and I can go back to York from Hudds on Friday morning instead of heading to Sheffield.
It'll be so nice to see you - and Jim, and Jen! *bounce* Should I call for a Friday evening gathering, then, so's people can come and catch up?
I don't have enough contact with people up there to sort it any more - but I'd really like to see everyone again...
I think the plan is we arrive some time during the day... bimble around and then go to scarbrough on Saturday, but Fri evening is pretty much free for socialising as far as I know.
Technically i should be back home for the weekly d&d game, but I'd far prefer to stay up there and catch up.
The only drawback is it's Yann's MERP game on Saturday (which runs once a month, from 12 til 12) - but I'll have to ask him to zombie me for a session. As far as I can remember, I'm not actually doing anything so I can just follow the party around.
It'll be ace to have you visiting! Apparently, Mr Marks is here too, staying with M.
I'm a bit tired, and a touch snotty, but apart from that I'm ok. How're you?
Enjoy your extended lunch break. Ignore the evil work. Enjoy the game tonight, and remember that the housework will still be here when visitors are gone - so don't get stressed about it. It's you they want to see, and they won't care a bit about the state of your house. Give yourself a rest. ;)
Having said that, I'm going to measure up and go to B&Q so I can put up a bannister before y'all get here on Friday...
yes...
Date: 2004-03-09 11:45 am (UTC)From:I'm probably staying in Starkey - but was possibly hoping to bed crash space from you El, depending on who will be where.
Will you need me to bring bedding and stuff over?
Also will you be off work on Friday?
speak to you soon,
*HUGGS*
