I made it to synagogue on Saturday morning, which was the first time in months that I've been, really. Then I pottered slightly further north of Leeds and went to Almscliffe Crags. Met up with
medains,
ravenlas, Elaine (winolj yet), James (winolj) and Fleur (winolj) and went climbing. For the first time ever. It was grey, it was windy, and my hands went numb. And it was brilliant! I made it up to the top - just the once - and had such a sense of exhileration and achievement. It was a real buzz, and I'm going to go climbing again as soon as possible.
Got home, got changed, and
ravenlas took me out to dinner. We tried Orgasmic, near the City Screen, but that was far too busy, far too noisy, and far too smokey. So we went to Gent and Henry's in the market. The food was great, and we were absolutely stuffed.
Went round to Elaine and Yann's for sake and films - ended up having the sake and then heading home around 10. Then instead of doing what I'm supposed to and going to bed, I spent another hour sorting out my books. There are 4 bookcases at the top of the stairs instead of the rickety handrail, and I've been putting my fiction on them. I've just run out of space... I still have all the rest of the non-fiction to find shelves for. :(
And today I got up fairly late, and wandered into town with
ravenlas. We had lunch at Orgasmic, which was a lot quieter and a lot less smokey. They do some of the best food in town, and they aren't too expensive. I can heartily recommend their smoked applewood garlic bread and their strawberry smoothies. Yum!
Oh, and we wandered into Nevisport to try on climbing shoes, and ended up getting them and harnesses... ouch!
And now it's Derek's Rubicon game, which is just messing with our minds.

Of course, next you need chalk bags... ;)
