... or how our intrepid heroes journey forth into the wilds of South Yorkshire and make it home in time for tea.
Yesterday began with a naming ceremony for a beautiful baby, attended by many friends, with lots more babies in attendance. Which made me very happy to see, and reminded me that I must head out to see my godson.
Then
ravenlas and I stopped by Phones4U to exchange his new phone (he'd been given the demo phone by mistake, which was scratched), and they sorted out his Vodaphone evil-customer-support problem so he should be able to move his mobile number over soon. Yay!
Then we were almost out of time, and grabbed sandwiches and went to pick up
a_crow for our practise run down to Doncaster airport. Which went okay, with only a little bit of shouting. *heh* Then we swung back via Xscape, and we're off back there on Thursday evening for a skiing lesson.
We made it back into York just before 6, had dinner at Ask (very nice - still, the Assembly Rooms are nicer than the food, although I really liked it). And then we went up to Vue to see Hot Fuzz, with Vicky,
greynolds,
sunlessnick and Brett.
It's truly excellent. My sides hurt with laughing. It's very well done. Not to give too much away, but they showed a trailer for Outlaw. It appears to be encouraging vigilante action. And then, this. About the absolute necessity for the right rule of law, for due process, for rules, and yes, for paperwork. It's a salutory reminder of the only way it's possible to live in a democratic society. And did I mention, it's the funniest film I've seen in *such* a long time? *chortle* Must get it on dvd!
Still waking up on that strange-but-comfy warm bed... I'll get used to it soon. Then I'll sleep.
matociquala has a link to a George Takei video clip. Much respect, that man. *glee*
The second issue of Hub magazine will be out next week, I believe. Make sure you get your copy! I don't have a story in it, but I do have an article in it, so that's all right, then. ;-)
