The Jukebox Challenge
You are in a pub and another customer is playing bad music on the jukebox. There is an hour until closing time. You have £2 - enough for seven songs. The challenge is to prevent the other person from getting any more music played before closing. The suggested list from Classic Rock magazine is:
Bohemian Rhapsody
Hotel California
Freebird
Bat out of Hell
Stairway to Heaven
Shine on you Crazy Diamond
McArthur Park ("The cheese in the rock sandwich")
Total time: 54 minutes. And not a bad selection ...
Rules:
Only songs that may reasonably be on a pub jukebox are allowed, so The Complete Brandenburg Concertos, for example, are not allowed
Only one song per artist
Songs must be ones that people are likely to have heard and would want to hear.
Feel free to head on over to his lj and post answers - he's a lot better at this than I am! lol
Okay, when did I last post? Um. Friday? Oops.
So, Friday. Gaming with
greynolds. Much hack'n'slash and lots of xp. And tidying up of the spare room.
Saturday morning, saw my good friend Steve for half an hour, until my older sister came by with her dog, Meg, and her best friend, Georgina. Who's just turned 40, and fancied partying in York. Yay! So we went into town, had a late lunch at El Piano, wandered round shops and came home again. I cooked. We watched Dr Who (Yay! and *drool*) and went out to party. At the 80s bar. *facepalm* Oh, so cheesy! *beam*
a_crow came out to party with us. About 2 seconds after we'd got drinks and gone over to the edge of the dancefloor, some bloke hit on George. Result! I got to be a bottle-holder for a guy on the rotating dancefloor. *hee* And then we ended up in Toffs for more dancing, and some random bloke gave me a yellow rose.
ravenlas picked us up at gone 1am, by which time we all had chips, Anne and George had had the tour of
a_crow's gorgeous flat, and two guys had walked past me and asked if I was okay, and a third (v. drunk) said to his mate 'what a beautiful face'. *happy dance*
Sunday, despite starting early, was lovely. We went to the designer outlet and met up with Anne's mum and stepdad, and then went for a walk down by the river, over the millennium bridge and into Rowntree Park. Anne headed off back down to Wales, and the rest of us returned to the designer outlet (for Thorntons stuff, for
ravenlas, though somehow I appear to have ended up with some chocolate too, fancy that), and for shopping (for Val and Mick). George and I went out to dinner at the Blue Bicycle, which was excellent, and she loved the downstairs. A bit of vegging at home on the sofa, then bed.
Monday, I had the day off. Rar! George and I went into town and spent the day wandering round shops again. We had lunch at Betty's, and a snack at VJs. I got to have a 'pretty woman' moment carrying George's bags as she had hatboxes. *heh* And we didn't leave town until 4:30. Then George headed off, and I... sat on the sofa. And was knackered. And so didn't go to Xscape with
a_crow and
ravenlas, but that's okay.
Tuesday - back at work. And I had to shell out for my next year's train ticket. Which, for the curious, cost me £2,708. *goes for a lie down* Ouch! *grumble* Oh, and there was writing group, which was great.
Weds - more work. Dressmaking. Got some more samples done. I am *so* going to have to take time off to get everything done. 3 weeks left to go...
Today - work again, oddly enough. Oh, and I voted. If you have the chance to, go vote today. Even if you think it won't make any difference. It's important.
And
ravenlas has ordered my wedding ring. *happy happy* So shiny! So sparkly! I will never get anything done ever again for being distracted by it. Well, I've got a month.
Oh, and we just need to plan a wedding... *shrug* Anyone have any ideas about running a Call of Cthulhu Murder Mystery?
