I know I've been a bit lax in wishing people happy birthday lately (doh!), so here goes (in date order):

Belated Happy Birthday, [livejournal.com profile] thirstypixel, [livejournal.com profile] spindr, Fleur, and for last Saturday, Kate and [livejournal.com profile] ravenlas! And just to be on the safe side, Happy Birthday [livejournal.com profile] makyo for tomorrow!

My apologies if I've missed anyone...

Last week? Busy. This week? Even more busy. This weekend? [livejournal.com profile] ravenlas' birthday treat is a trip to London to see Wicked and Spamalot. Yay! Next week? Almost certainly busy again. Ho hum.

If you want to see me, I am hereby declaring Thursday nights 'open house night'. I'll be home some time between 6 and 6:30, barring train problems. You're welcome to come round and visit. And if you tell me in advance you're coming, I may even be able to provide biscuits, sandwiches, hot drinks, mulled wine, yada yada.

No, I'm not available to come visit you, not this week or next week, and maybe not the week after. Sorry, that's just the way it goes. I have a Chinese exam coming up, a dressmaking course, and a writing/proof-reading career, outside of my full-time job. To say nothing of 4 siblings, several parents and assorted friends to make presents for. And that makes the run-up to Christmas rather busy.

Oh, and I have a wedding to plan. Btw, anyone coming to my hen do? [livejournal.com profile] ayrton_nix needs to know numbers, I think.

No, really! Here, have a meme, courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] o_faolain: Jukebox Meme )

Feel free to head on over to his lj and post answers - he's a lot better at this than I am! lol

Okay, when did I last post? Um. Friday? Oops. Well, here be a long and boring update: )

Today - work again, oddly enough. Oh, and I voted. If you have the chance to, go vote today. Even if you think it won't make any difference. It's important.

And [livejournal.com profile] ravenlas has ordered my wedding ring. *happy happy* So shiny! So sparkly! I will never get anything done ever again for being distracted by it. Well, I've got a month.

Oh, and we just need to plan a wedding... *shrug* Anyone have any ideas about running a Call of Cthulhu Murder Mystery?

Thanks to everyone who came to the party on Saturday night for making it such a special evening. I had a great time, and I think [livejournal.com profile] ravenlas did too. Folks appeared to be enjoying themselves, and my sisters came up for it too, so it was fantastic. Yay! I got to see [livejournal.com profile] evie_petrol, [livejournal.com profile] smorgasbord & [livejournal.com profile] clotilde's shiny new baby girl, and my godson, and the projectile spewing was from them and not any of the adults around, so that's alright then. *heh*

I drank a wee bit too much bubbly (yum), and was a tad hungover on Sunday, but not enough to really make much difference. [livejournal.com profile] ravenlas and I finished off the tidy-up (a couple of dishwasher loads, a full bin), and had cheese on toast with my twin and her husband, who stayed over and had a long lie-in. We watched POTC 2: Dead Man's Chest, which was great, and I lazed around and enjoyed my nicely tidy living room. [livejournal.com profile] st3v3 came round in the evening to talk plot, and brought cake, and then I went to bed.

And today, after some signalling problems, I'm back at work, finally, though I'm not feeling terribly bright. Ho hum. I've got about a week of LJ to catch up on, and some work too, so if there's anything particularly important I should know about (before catching up slowly), please let me know.

Last week? Mostly spent curled up on the sofa with romances, or pottering round tidying the house, or asleep. This week I'm hoping I'll pick up again and get back to my usual bouncy self.

Many and varied things lie herein: the weekend, friends, my proselytism, Disney Land, dressmaking, yada yada yada *deep breath* ) And of course, the most important thing is that I've finally used YouTube for its rightful purpose. Which is watching Depeche Mode videos. I may never get any work done again! lol

With regards to the cryptic reference in this post, that would be a resounding 'Hell, yes!': [livejournal.com profile] ravenlas and I are engaged, and very surprised he was too at all the fuss my family made. Which was far more low-key than it would have been had more of them still been around - half of them had headed off to their separate ends of the country by Monday afternoon. *grin* I didn't mean to be cryptic; I blame it on my sniffles and the 5.5 hour train journey. ;-)

Back home!

A 6.5 hour train journey, assorted wedding-related mad panics, a wedding, a reception, a barbeque, a wee shopping trip, a 5.5 hour train journey and lots of bubbly later, [livejournal.com profile] ravenlas and I are home. We have survived the rigours of my twin's wedding, which went very well. Photos later... )

So more tomorrow. Yay!
