I'm writing again. 2000 words on a new story which was meant to be a little flash fic piece to get me back into it. Several hundred words on Cypria's Goose and on Tie Me To The Mast (But Do Not Stop My Ears).

Still to do: well, those last two to finish a draft of. Little Fifteen Dog Dreams to write from outline. Squirrels in Space to finish editing (it's further on than last time, though). Thunder Moon to write a second half of. And Mister Benn and the Men from Afghanistan to write, from outline.

I'm also knitting. I finished those leaf-pattern socks. Have knitted two Jayne hats, and have the earflaps and pompom to finish on a third.

And dressmaking. I only have sleeves left to do on my kirtle and it's finished. Hurrah! Then I'll have to plan out and make an overkirtle. I've got all the panels cut out for a gown for Dinan in July, thanks to Dave Rushworth, and I've tacked the lining in the sleeve panels which, lo, are mighty.

The rats have made no further appearances (no more disturbed bait, no more squashed rat bodies).

The house: I spent an hour on Friday night (well, it was Saturday, technically) shifting stuff from the spare room so that [livejournal.com profile] paul_marks could get to sleep. The bookcase is no longer in there with a flying buttress of books to keep it from tipping over. Nope, it's in the living room, behind the sofa. And I must move all the books downstairs to sit behind the sofa too until I can afford to go buy a wall of shelves.

The game: was funny. I turned into a monkey for a while and rode around on the back of a dog. While wearing a fez. Heh.

And before the game, I made it to Shul for the first time in months. I got to see friends, meet one friend's 8 month old baby. Show photos. Say hi to the rabbi. It felt like coming home. It always does. It makes me mindful of the ways I'm not pulling this into my everyday life. I need to rearrange my home, rearrange my
Practice, reaffirm my faith in ways which are meaningful to me and also not incomprehensible to my family, my friends - my family-by-choice.

Today: VJs, where, again, I got to see friends I've not seen in a while. Which was lovely. And I got to see friends I see regularly, which was also splendid. And Doctor Who. Which was utterly, utterly awesome, and in my head, I'm still squeeing.

Tomorrow: who knows? I should be heading to Huddersfield to see my parents, but Mum called to say not to come if it's snowing. So we'll see. If not, it'll be book-shifting, dressmaking, knitting, cooking, and suchlike. I hope. And some writing, I hope. Oh - I have Kate Elliot's Shadow Gate to read and review, and Peter Hamilton's Dreaming The Void. Hurrah! Right. Good night, y'all. Sleep well.
