Updates, parties and fillums
Jun. 7th, 2004 11:04 amI'm not normally interested in car mods - it seems a very sad thing to do. But this one made me giggle and wonder where my spaceship is. *grin*
Many thanks to everyone who has contributed to my iPod fund - I'm about half way there now, so I'll be getting one very soon, with luck. *happy dance* I had a good birthday - spoke to practically all of my family and assorted friends, and I have some fab lush smellies, a pretty pink scarf, and Diarmuid Gavin's Design your own garden book. Which has ace pictures in it, but alas, stately home gardens will not fit into my back yard. I think I'm going to have to settle for some dwarf fruit trees in pots at the bottom of the garden (to hide the barking boxer dogs), and maybe refitting the pond. As long as I have space for my hammock, I'll be happy.
Saturday saw Yann's MERP game. Bridget (James winolj), Celegil (
ravenlas) and Thrawn (me) managed to escape death by hypothermia/having the life sucked out of us by 3,000 dwarven wraiths (apparently in Tolkien's books, dwarves can't be made wraiths, but in this game they bloody well can be), which is always nice. The party has not (yet) imploded or otherwise disbanded. And we're still trying to fight the good fight against the Nazgul Sand King.
And on Sunday,
ravenlas and I went to Makro, in Leeds. Which is always good fun, if rather expensive. They do have a sofa bed in, which I could replace my current sofa with, for the princely sum of 200 quid plus VAT. I ummed and urrred, and when we got home, Ravenlas spotted what appears to be the self-same sofa bed in an ad in the back of the Saturday Times magazine. For 450 quid. So I may well have to head back over to Makro asap...
Party is still on for this Saturday. If you wish to barbeque, turn up from around 2:30 onwards (if it's not raining), and if you just want a bog-standard Freaksoc party, turn up in the evening. On Sunday, though, I must head off at around 8 or 9am to go to Coventry to see my brother and his fiancee, as it's the only chance to see them before she has a serious back operation and will be bedridden and pretty much unvisitable for a couple of months. So no getting well-oiled for me. *shrug* It has the advantage of leaving the clearing up to others... *evil grin*
The next Miyazaki film evening will be this Friday evening, if anyone fancies coming round to watch it.
