For those of you who feel you lack enough angst in your life, this is superb. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] alasdair1076 for passing the link along!

Another link: [livejournal.com profile] o_faolain points out something rather important for those of you who enjoy listening to live music. If you don't want to see live music disappear, go and read, then follow his link to sign the petition.

Friday night - ended up going to the regular D&D game due to a lack of oomph for partying. Apologies and best wishes to Wayne (winolj). We are a level 2 adventuring party, and are Still Not Dead! Hurrah!

Saturday daytime was [livejournal.com profile] ultharkitty's awesome corsetry workshop, in which I drafted a pattern and cut out a toille, which I must finish basting. The next session is in a couple of weeks; I'm really looking forward to it! There was great company and I do believe I actually leaned quite a lot, and I have missed getting together with people and making things.

Saturday dinnertime was a mad dash to tidy out the living room before Steve and Lesley came to visit, with much nattering and wine and Wii games. Lesley is intimidatingly good at Wii bowling, but I still kick ass at golf. lol

And as a result of Saturday night, I didn't get up until gone 12 on Sunday (needed the sleep), then tried out Wii Lego Batman (v. funny) and - at long last - the Wii Fit. My Wii Fit age was 38, but overall I didn't do too badly...

I'm making an effort to get to bed earlier so that I can get up at 6 rather than 6.30am so that I can do 20 minutes ish on the Wii Fit. And my Wii Fit age today is 32, despite having come down with a cough and a cold and (somehow) put on 1lb although I have eaten less and not boozed it up. Meh.

I am back on wheat, because in 2 weeks I have to go for an endoscopy. Neither of these things makes me especially happy, and I am likely to be gurgly (I can't burp properly) and a bit bloated, sluggish and tired. Hence making an effort with the Wii Fit. Well, that and I may well be heading off skiing in 6 weeks or so with my sisters and [livejournal.com profile] ravenlas and anyone else who's coming, and I need to raise my overall level of fitness and my stamina by then. This effort is currently being aided by my being bike-less.

My bike is getting an overdue service at Decathlon here in Sheffield. And today I'll be calling them to see whether or not it's new bike time... The bottom bracket needs replacing and is stuck. They're going to attempt to smash it out and re-cut the threads for a new bottom bracket. Eep! *fingers crossed*

Right, enough of this lj malarkey! It's time to force-quite WinZip Pro and try again to update that pesky zip archive for work...

Oh, but before I go, I have started a new knitting project - a cashmere lace shawl... More about that later. *beam*

Actually more functional that winzip (or so I remember) is
http://www.7-zip.org/download.html

I use it for everything, actually makes zip files with better
compression than winzip that you can still open with winzip.

Its free/small/lacking in bollocks .... just a thought.
