I feel like I'm moving in slow motion today. Left my cycle helmet at home this morning and didn't notice until I was cycling past the Black Swan in town. Bah!
ravenlas has evil sinus evil lurgy, and I suspect I'm not-quite coming down with it. That, combined with huge amounts of tiredness and a croaky throat, means I was off work yesterday for the first time in 2 and a half months. Bah! Wandered into town eventually yesterday afternoon to get such goodies as Olbas oil, menthol crystals, Sudafed, and assorted sniffies. (The inhaler do-dahs that you stick up your nose and sniff, which give you that 'menthol forehead' feeling...) Saw
clotilde in Borders, and she assured me that despite the Sci-Fi section having shrunk (again) and moved sideways down the shop (again), no, Borders aren't trying to get rid of it. Hmmm.
I woke up this morning in the middle of strange dreams. There was some film / reconstruction on tv about some murder (or something), and I was saying to my family, 'Look, that's just down the road from where Jerry lived!', completely ignoring the bad stuff. And also I was wandering around a Can't Cook, Won't Cook set talking with Xander. Who was trying to help make lamb chops in a creamy gravy, with a salad starter and a strawberry fruit salad thing based on some cream something or other to finish. It all looked a bit messy, really.
I need more sleep...

Date: 2004-07-16 10:31 am (UTC)From:Me too! I just can't get motivated. Nothing is broken, so I've not got the typical fire-lit-under-my-chair experience to keep me moving. I can't seem to concentrate on anything - I keep forgetting what task I'm on. Daft thing is, I had *loads* of sleep 'cos I overslept this morning! There seems to be something wrong with my phone such that it didn't wake me up this morning. I didn't get out of bed till 0815, which is hard when you're due in Leeds at 0900! Still, I managed the two tasks which I think are all that can be asked of any lifeform on a morning: get dressed and clean your teeth.

Looks like it might be a day for it...

Ths being shortly after we'd watched swans trying to commit suicide by drowning, and identified 15 types of tree as all being damsons...(it was one of those silly conversation evenings)
