I made it to shul on Friday night, and then to Fibbers for the SBA / Manuskript gig, which was very hot, but much fun. One of the people I commute with came to the gig with his wife and thought Top gig last night ... I (we) thought Screaming Banshee Aircrew were *way* better than Manuskript .... would definitely turn out to see them again. Mr Ed and Jo looked/sounded excellent. Fab seeing lots of people there too.
Saturday was Yann's MERP game. We're still not dead yet. But we are facing some pant-wettingly big bads some time soon. (Note to self, must persuade the dwarves to go for a jaunt up to the tower to retrieve the gold. For the poor opressed villagers. No really.)
After the game finished (at 11:30pm) I wandered home and gathered together the stuff for the car boot sale. Then went to bed around 1:30am, and got up again at 5:40 am, had a shower, then looked out the front door and saw it was bucketing down. Checked my phone - had a txt saying 'don't think it's a good idea, field will be a bog' so I went back to bed. Which does mean I have to find somewhere to pile all my car boot sale stuff for a couple of weeks, as I can't get to one this Sunday. On account of heading off to see my twin and not being back in York by then.
Rest of Sunday... was v tired, went to Orgasmic for lunch with
ravenlas, looked at baths and showers in B&Q for 10 minutes before they shut, then went home and almost-but-not-quite fell asleep on the sofa.
I'm signed up to an email bookclub provider. One of the books I'm reading an excerpt from is The Mourner's Dance by Katherine Ashenburg (nonfiction). It's about mourning customs and is, so far, fantastic. I may have to see if they have it in Borders...
