A huge great big "Thank You!!!" to all of you wonderful people who gave me the names and phone numbers of plumbers. In the end, I went with a very nice man called Tony Grant (phone number available on request if anyone wants a good plumber). He turned up in a burgundy Landrover (a plus) with 2 large chocolate labradors in the back. Who were exceedingly friendly and curious, and were very happy in the back garden. Leo watched them from Jo's window, but doesn't seem too scarred by seeing *gasp* dogs in his back yard. *grin*

The plumber replaced the waste trap on the bath, fixed a pesky leak on the hot water pipe and resealed the bath with really good quality sealant. So yay! This included a couple of trips off - one to get a trap, the other to go to B&Q when he discovered they'd not used standard fittings, but DIY fittings. He gave me great advice on refitting the bathroom, and was here from almost 12 til around 2:30. And all for the princely sum of seventy-five quid. I don't think that's terribly unreasonable, do you? *grin*

Anyway, the ginnel has now stopped dripping, and would appear to be drying out. Under the bath also looks a wee bit more dry, though it'll take a while before under the floor is completely back to normal.

So when I come to have the entire bathroom ripped out, the floor pulled up and burned, Rentakil in to spray the joists, and someone in to replace the floor, I know which plumber I'll be calling to come and put in a new bathroom.

If anyone's emailed me today, btw, I can't pick it up right now because 'There is a problem connecting to the message store. Please try again later or contact your administrator." But what about my email??? *whimper*

And the laptop battery just took 20 minutes to go from 99% to 9% full. Gosh.

The best bit about today? It's far too late to travel into work. *big grin*

The worksurface, cupboard doors and the cooker are all clean. I've cleaned out the fridge and freezer *properly*. I've swept the floor and cleaned off the butcher's block. And put the table behind it instead of having it leant in front. I've put up the bag tidies *properly*, and put in a couple of hooks to hang the spare clother airer out of the way. I've sorted out the cupboard under the sink. I've put up the new clothes line and hung out my washing. All I have left to do is to tidy under the unit by the back door, and the kitchen will look fantastic.

Of course, the living room is a bit of a tip, but that can wait for my next unscheduled day off to wait for a tradesman... (That sounds so derogatory, but 'skilled craftsman' equally doesn't sound right. What do you guys think?)
