I've created a nice new community for York and Leeds based climbers. Just to make it a bit easier to discuss going climbing. Go join it. You know you want to. *grin*

There could be an awful lot of people join it, which would make it stop being very useful - apart for announcements like "Farmer Giles has shut off access to blah crag due to foot and mouth"

eep climbing.

although havign said that I have managed a few 'easy' climbs when I was about 16 or so. I might work on going to the gym a bit more before I try though

No, No!

The best practice for climbing is climbing. Easy stuff, granted, but gym muscles are a bit of a waste of time, IMHO.

In any case, climbing is not as strength based as many people think. Flexibility, balance and a brain are far more useful. OK, if you are hanging upside down from an overhang then strength comes in, but I mentioned easy stuff, which doesnt include extreme overhangs....
