As expected, yesterday was very much a rest day, from the first zombie shuffle to let the dogs out, to the afternoon nap on the day bed. I spent most of the day there, in fact, listening to Absolute 80s radio and playing games on my iPad while being snuggled by a succession of dogs. Sometimes I swear Newton only loves me for my duvet... So, very little done, but that's okay because my week started again today and so far I've done all right.
As promised, here's a photo of the fireplace now I've turned the mountain of paper and cardboard into 30 paper logs. Hurrah! They're out in the side of the peat shed, drying on racks (an old clothes airer and the top shelf of one of those little pseudo-greenhouse thingumabobs). Tomorrow I'll clean out the fireplace and clean it all down. Among other things.

So, the rugs are all washed, dried and back down, the hoovering is an ongoing battle, my brother-in-law and his family have been delivered back to the airport for their trip home, the strawberry plants are watered (the other inhabitants of the pseudo-greenhouse), the yard is poo-free, the dishwasher's empty, laundry drying or put away and the dogs have each had a bone, to much acclaim (well, munching). Now to do some writing - even if it's only my to do list - and run away to bed.
