*shudder*
On Saturday I went to Harrogate to pick up stuff from my car. The two maps I wanted - street-by-streets for West and North Yorkshire - weren't there, but there were a few tapes, my Sheffield map, Jerry's dragon tie, etc. The car's in a sorry state. The doors won't shut properly, let alone lock, and there's a huge dint in the roof. Add to that one missing and one almost-missing wing-mirror, and wires hanging from the steering column, and all the locks being broken, and it looks very lonely and unloved. So that made me sad.
Came back from Harrogate too late to go to VJs, so I struggled through town (fought down the urge to batter people with a crooklock) and did the few bits and pieces I needed to get done. Went to Barley Hall to see Dawn, who runs Ages of Elegance and spent quite a while nattering. Adam turned up there too, which was lovely. I got some hand-spun wool to make more viking socks and mittens. I really need to find a good wool-shop which will do really thick and chunky wool or even hand-spun wool - any ideas? Went home, then walked back into town with
ravenlas to get the bus to Huby (last bus goes at 6:05 - wtf?). Had a wonderful dinner with Terry and Clare, full of lots of homegrown veg - tomatillos, chillies, tomatoes, gooseberries. Yum! Much talking, and very late to bed (3am).
Sunday was going to be a lie-in, but the phone went at 10:35, and just as I got to the phone, it stopped. Humbug!
ravenlas pottered downstairs, and I stayed in bed and finished off my book. Got up, showered, went shopping (Netto and Sainsbury's), called to see Sarah, then came home, had tea, and went to
lucius101's werewolf game. Much fun, and we're not dead yet. Yay! Put the desk outside for Sarah to pick up on Monday.
Monday was mostly spent yawning - need more sleep! When I got home,
ravenlas and I put stuff out the front for the bin men, then I washed my bike. Sarah called round for the computer
ravenlas put together for her, and
medains came over. I made honey mustard chicken and roast veg for tea, and I made a pie, for the first time in years. It's loosely based on yesterday's Woman's Hour recipe for cheese and onion pie, and it's yummy! So a good cooking day.
medains and
ravenlas put the armchairs outside for the bin men (no-one else wants them, and no charity will take them as they don't have fire-retardant labels).
john_hat's friend Jesus lost some keys a few weeks back, and the pink armchair spat them out (finally). Despite being thoroughly searched, to no avail, at the time... Ho hum! Also spoke to my dad, and then found a book on Amazon for 58p that he's been looking for for ages. *grin*
Now all I need to do is tidy up some small piles of stuff, and the living-room may actually be tidy...
And on a completely unrelated note, I *hate* insurance companies. They're all going to burn in Hell for all eternity. (At least in my imagination, they are.)

I hate insurance.
