social climbing

I'm off climbing with a bunch of work colleagues. It's a team-building exercise - an excuse to skive off work for the afternoon. And since one of those skiving is a company director, it's sanctioned skiving! Yay!

Quick question: is skiving less of a pleasure when it's sanctioned skiving, or does that add to the pleasure by removing the threat of censure?

For me that would increase the pleasure ... but then, last time I took a day off before today was in August ... Hell, I feel guilty when I take a day off, even if it's booked and everything - it feels so odd walking around town while it's daylight ...

Aw! You poor thing!

Mind you, I feel bad about taking holiday right now - I had 90 days off sick in 150 from the year starting Sept 03...

Ah - about a week in the last three years I think ... I come in and infect people instead ...

Probably a bit more - say 1 week a year. Disproportionate number of Mondays though.

[grin] I'd have no problems about being sent home, but I think it might be the effect of medical parents - "You can still move, you're going to school ..." - but then that's also their attitude about their own health as well ...
