At 7:30-ish this morning, just as I was putting my coat on to head out to the station, there was a knock on the door. It was the postman. Bearing a box. Which contains my shiny new iPod! *happy dance* *happy dance* Yay!!!! Alas, I am at work now, and I must wait until tonight before I can play with it. Bah! Curse the evil work! lol
Plus, anyone out there with 'professional qualifications' or somesuch and a UK passport fancy counter-signing my lost passport application form? I need to send it off first thing tomorrow. I know at some point, to do with house-buying stuff, I was carrying my passport around with me as ID. And I know that, at some point, someone said, 'that's not very safe, keeping it in your handbag'. I suspect I've put it somewhere safe. Where that somewhere safe *is*, I have no idea. Can't find it. And I'm meant to be going skiing sometime very soon with
ravenlas,
a_crow, and my sisters. Argh! No stress...
I went round to
daeghnao's house on Friday night, leaving
ravenlas and "lj user="palmersperry"> at home. We watched the remake of the Stepford Wives. It's great! It made me chortle lots, and it was great to see
daeghnao - a very relaxing evening. It has had one bad effect on me, though. I *want* a 50's style dress! I want the tight bodice and layers of skirts! So on Saturday, I went on a trawl through the York city centre charity shops. Alas, they seem to be the home of polyester/nylon/lycra woman in various shades of yuck, so no joy. I did find one beautiful dress. Powder-blue silk. Gorgeous. 95 quid from the vintage clothing shop... *sigh* Must buy a bun-tray too...
and Got up late on Sunday, spent the day (bar a break for dinner) building a monster wardrobe with
ravenlas. Much cursing and wailing and gnashing of teeth later, it's pretty much done. All I have to do is put the doors on and hang up the last few things which are still hung off the bed. Then turn the bed round 90 degrees. And put the stack of chests in the corner. And change the sheets. I can see what I'll be doing as I sync my iPod...
Didn't sleep very well, though, after all that. It was midnight, or not too long gone, when I got to bed, but I was still awake at 1:30, and then kept on waking up.
So, words of wisdom for today - when they say 'storage heaters are full of bricks', they really mean it. *wince* Oh, and glue - not an acceptable way to attach said storage heater to the wallpaper... .
Meant to be climbing this lunchtime. I'm so dozey I nearly left my climbing bag on the train. Doesn't bode well for tackling that overhang...
