Party!

52 days and counting... 44 days until we fly. :)

So. The party.

I'm looking at venues. What we want is a buffet and dancing and a bar, at the end of March. We don't want the big sit-down meal and speeches. And we'd like to invite somewhere on the region of 150-175 guests, though if we have to, we'll cut it down a bit.

The racecourse is looking at coming in somewhere around 3k for this, which just makes me wince. A friend is enquiring for me at York St John's. Does anyone have any other suggestions?<sup>1

1. Of course, if you can actually fit 150 people in your house and don't mind letting us party there, I'd be very grateful. And amazed. 150 people in your house?!! My goodness!2

2. If you are/are best friends with/have blackmail material on the owners of a venue, and can help us out, that'd also be fantastic.</sup>

I'd vote for a pub/ village hall as well. If you look in the phone book, theres a section called venues or function rooms, or something along those lines, and you can just phone them all and find out about availability and cost.
