It's long past time I got back to posting on here regularly. The problem is that not a right lot happens in my life at the moment, so it'll be a bit boring, with swathes written about the dogs (grown and growing and currently out in the yard, wrestling and barking at the world), knitting (still got to sort out the neckband on [livejournal.com profile] rhube's 5th Doctor jumper; on welt (stripe) 14 of a knit-in-the-round coat from Sandra McIver's amazingly good Knit, Swirl book, done largely in Texere's Enigma (50% silk, 50% wool) in forest green and dark blue with a bit of white and silver Knit, Swirl jacket), the state of the house (not too bad since we hoovered on Sunday, but I still need to tidy up the parlour and my corner of the living room and repaint a wall in the large bedroom and put up pictures), the state of my husband (asleep), and the state of my writing (far too little done there, but over the past few days I've written and posted 3 fanfic ficlets as part of my birthday smutfest celebration, and I've written nearly 700 words so far this morning for a much longer story, so that's something at least). I'll probably post about the birds that gather around the feeders on the tree just out the back (currently a chaffinch hopping around and a brood of sparrows that seem to have fun together and take dirtbaths in the loose earth).

Exciting, nu?

So yeah, that's my life right now. Excitingly, we've got Netflix working despite our slow out-in-the-countryside broadband, so last night I popped The Princess Bride on. Again. Always huge amounts of fun to watch! I have long since come to the conclusion that if I played the Princess Bride drinking game in which one has to take a drink every time there's a quotable line, I'd be dead of alcohol poisoning 20 minutes in.

I should maybe keep a list of what I'm reading, but it'd be fanfic, fanfic, fanfic, 19th century book on criminal psychology, fanfic. But hey, why not? It does, after all, form a fair proportion of my day, since my ME's at a consistently slightly higher level these days than it used to be, but it's still nowhere near the 'eat-my-brain' bad of total wipeout, thank goodness.

Anyway, happy extra bank holiday day to those of you here in the UK, and don't work too hard, everyone else!
